Start here: DIY 12V landscape lighting, the simple way

Welcome, especially if you found us on Reddit. QDot Life is a small Houston-based brand that makes 12V low-voltage landscape lighting kits you can install yourself in an afternoon. Everything you need is in the box, and you can control it from your phone.

How DIY 12V lighting works in 3 steps

  1. Plan and place. Decide what to light (trees, the walkway, the front of the house) and push the fixtures into the ground with the included stakes. The transformer plugs into a standard outdoor outlet.
  2. Run and connect the cable. Lay the included 16/2 direct burial cable from the transformer past each fixture, strip the ends with the included Wire Stripper, and join each fixture with the waterproof connectors.
  3. Bury, switch on, schedule. Cover the cable with a few inches of soil or mulch, turn it on, and set an ON/OFF schedule in the app.
